Default Creating the Shopping List

Hi,
I am new to CC and was playing around with making a shopping list. I seem to only be able to make a shopping list per one day. Is it possible to create my menu plan for a week or more and create a list for the entire week?
Thank you,
Angela

Hi Angela,

Excellent question.

Really, the shopping list feature is setup to take a maximum of 4 pre-entered recipes which automatically compiles the shopping list. This is broken down per day, yes. The reason for this limit is that the shopping list would be incredibly long (and somewhat counterproductive) if you have to go through too many ingredients to check each and every one from a list of 28 recipes.

If you would like to have not only the ingredients, but the entire recipes printed out of the entire week, you can select each recipe (4 max per day) and then from the Tools menu select Print Planner Recipes for All Week.

This will print not only the ingredients, but the entire recipe for your weekly planner.

I can try adding a similar "Print Planner Ingredients for All Week" type function for the next version, but it may be overwhelming when you see the final shopping list to wade through. I'll look into this for you.

Thanks for the note.

Regards,

MikeM

Thank you for your response.

Typically I plan my menus for 7 days and do the grocery shopping ahead of time. The hardest part is going through each recipe, combining ingredients and then compiling a list. I don't mind the length of it as long as I didn't have to spend the time coming up with it. At that point I would love to be able to go through and delete what I already have or cross it off. Is there a way to to do this in the current version?
Thank you,
Angela

Angela, thanks to your suggestion I've added a function for "Print Planner Recipes for All Week". This function will be in the next version that will be available within 2-3 weeks tops.

You'll then be able to just import your recipe data into the new version and be all set with this option.

Thanks for the suggestion.
